Crochet time
With the shawl in the blocking pile, I picked up a WIP to work on last night – the scrap blanket. I’m smack dab in the middle of the pinks right now, then it moves into greens and blues. But … Continue reading
Scraps for scraps
I flubbed on a batch of soap and cut the bars to the wrong size. When I re-cut them to the proper size, I ended up with a bunch of really thin slices that I dampened and stuck together. Still … Continue reading
Feeling cozy
A quick little scrap buster: beer (or cider) bottle cozy! I’m using wool oddments, will probably make several.
Trillian, check!
Yep, yep — a game of ‘yarn chicken’ going on there at the end, but I cast off Trillian on my way home last night! Rather embarrassed that I let it set for so long, since it was nearly done… … Continue reading

Since it was already out
I was going to put the crochet hook away after I finished the Ondine shawl, but then I figured I might as well use it to start a scrap-busting project. This is a small blanket, made with sock yarn scraps, … Continue reading

Scrappy it is, then
Trillian is a yarn hog. She’s eating up yarn faster than I anticipated, and so I’m having to figure out what yarns I can use to get the scarf to a usable size without becoming a scrap nightmare. I’m currently … Continue reading
Sock scraps, squared
Yarn train, ahoy! We are on our way to Portland for a day of yarn store hopping, and I needed 5-6 hours of easy knitting – so I grabbed a bunch of scrap balls and am making mitered squares. Much … Continue reading

WIP Wednesday
It’s another use-up-the-old-stash project: more socks. Nothing fancy, just simple 3X1 rib across the instep and contrast toes & heels. Building up my inventory of warm socks for next winter!
